decision tree

“A method of examining data and a tool to classify data into a tree. Each node of the tree contains a conditional statement and represents a split point for the data. For example, one node might test the gender of participants, resulting in three branches from that point: Female, Male, and Other. Decision tree tools attempt to build trees that have significant split points where the contribution of each branch to the goal is different.”
